This is one of the most important resources that a German Shepherd owner should keep on hand. The authors of this book go into detail on every aspect that concerns both the owner and the German Shepherd. Both Strickland and Moses are respected and considered deeply knowledgeable in their work with German Shepherds.
Strickland, who is considered the World Famous Master Dog Trainer, has written many books on Obedience work and has also made several videos that are the foundation block for anyone who wants to succeed and take home the highest honors. She has received citations and medals from Germany and the USA for "Excellence In Dog Training".
Jimmy Moses is one of the most successful handlers in the USA. He has had the honor of showing and taking Best in Show at Westminster. Last year he took best in show at Westminster with a gorgeous black and tan female, Jagan's Belle Star. In this book, Jimmy has given excellent advice and training tips for both the novice and the experienced.
This book is easily read and simply explained. Each chapter covers the topic thoroughly and completely. The price for this book is about $22.00.

This is an excellent book for those who would like to know more about the German Shepherd breed. This book completely discusses the history of this breed, the breed standards in the different country's around the world; and how to choose, raise and care for your dog.
Although not as comprehensive as the book mentioned above, I find this book to be a necessary resource for my library. This book is written more for novices and those who work closer to home; although this book does go into beginning detail and touch base on all aspects that concern the German Shepherd dog. This book also has an excellent glossary section.
The price of this book can run as high as $39.95.

This book is written by an experienced and successful professional who has a strong background in working with emotionally damaged and abused dogs.
This subject is not often talked about and the shy and hurt dogs pay the price. If you have a dog who, for one reason or another, can't seem to deal with life or the situations that they run into, this book is priceless! Although you can't always fix the problems, you can lessen the pain and the trauma that they deal with.
This book will explain, completely, why these dogs exist and how the owner can begin changing how the dog looks at things and deals with situations around them. Some severely damaged dogs have even managed to successfully and even happily title in obedience and other doggy sports.
I rescued a damaged Shepherd who, although still being worked with, has begun to adjust and live a less scary existence, just by following this easy to understand Manuel.
This book is inexpensive and costs about $12.95

Strickland has produced 3 videos in this series.
This video is for Beginners and Novice Handlers. All the training in this video is considered basic but it also prepares you for your first title, CD.
Strickland is easy to understand and continuously reminds you of the rules and steps to accomplishing this training, successfully.
This is the 2nd video in Stricklands series.
This video prepares you for Open (CDX) Competition. You will learn how to:
1. Train your dog to become a happy, precise worker 2. Correct mistakes 3. Avoid handler or dog errors 4. Win high scores.
This is the 3rd video in Stricklands series.
This video will prepare you for the Utility (UD) Competition. This video is very advanced and difficult to follow until your ready for the next step. This video finishes up nicely and leaves you ready to win with high scores in all trials.
I recommend these videos to anyone who is serious about their dogs and strive for excellence. I have successfully followed this series and have excellent results, even within the first week of training.
The pricing on these videos run about $50.00 per video. Although the price is high, the material covered on each video is unbelievable and amazing. The first video is the foundation to all the training, and the other two are filled to the brim with training and tips.
